August 2019 – Jersey Canada Proofs

“Windstar” Cruises to the Summit for Pro$

As Ahlem Megatron Windstar‐ET (Megatron x Legal) transitions from a US‐based MACE evaluation to an official domestic proof, he becomes the highest newly proven sire this round. His success is particularly true for Pro$ as he reaches the summit in #1 position while also having an impressive debut for LPI in #3 spot (#2 Fat, #3 Protein). Golden GDK Vivaldi stays solid at #2 Pro$ and still dominates for LPI in #1 position (#6 Fat), with Hawarden Dimension Pilgrim‐ET holding on at #2 LPI (#5 Pro$, #3 Fat). Two other sires achieve Top 10 status for both indexes this August, including River Valley Cece Chrome‐ET (#4 LPI, #9 Pro$) and River Valley Pfennig Perfect Fit (tied #5 Protein), who now occupies #6 position for both LPI and Pro$. The former Pro$ leader, Sunset Canyon Megatron‐ET, slips in ranking to #4 position (#11 LPI, #1 Fat, tied #1 Protein) and lands right behind his second proven son in Canada, namely River Valley PF MegaPower‐ET (#3 Pro$, #14 LPI, #4 Fat, tied #7 Protein). The Top 10 Pro$ list is completed by Dutch Hollow Oliver‐P at #7 Pro$ (#13 LPI), Jars of Clay Barnabas at #8 Pro$ (#16 LPI) and ERTL Mantra staying at #10 Pro$ (tied #17 LPI, #10 Milk, tied #7 Protein). For LPI, several high ranking sires from April experience very little change, including Hawarden Impuls Premier (#5 LPI, #12 Pro$), Sunset Canyon Dignitary‐ET (#7 LPI, #28 Pro$), Wilsonview IF Matt‐ET (#8 LPI, #17 Pro$) and Sunset Canyon Dazzler‐ET (#10 LPI, #20 Pro$). As the second highest newly proven sire this round, it is Covington Antonio‐ET, who is the first proven son of Vivaldi (dam is Covington Zuma Della), that completes the Top LPI list as he grabs #9 position (#15 Pro$). Another sire worth noting is Glynn Valentino Marcin (dam is Dutch Hollow Jevon Melinda 822‐ET), who achieves official status only for production but becomes the new breed leader at #1 Milk and is tied with Megatron at #1 Protein.

For Jersey cows, Lencrest Cocopuff still leads both lists at #1 GLPI and #1 Pro$ (#2 Fat) but four newly indexed cows join the Top 10 ranks for at least one of these indexes. The highest of these is JX Progenesis Jive Dahlia {6}-ET, who makes an impressive debut by grabbing the #2 position for both GLPI and Pro$ (#9 Fat, tied #5 Protein). Guimo Nxlevel Irvana also has a great start with her first official index at #3 Pro$ (#23 GLPI). Dahlia’s maternal sister, JX Progenesis Imp Helene {6}‐ET, also achieves Top 10 status for Pro$ in #6 position (#16 GLPI, #6 Fat, tied with Dahlia at #5 Protein) while Reyla Jive Sharona ET does the same on the GLPI side, arriving tied in #9 spot (#13 Pro$, tied #10 Protein). Alongside Cocopuff and Dahlia, three other cows earn Top 10 status for both indexes, namely Redhot Matt Tesla ET (#3 GLPI, #4 Pro$, tied #1 Conformation), Progenesis Trillium (#4 GLPI, #5 Pro$, #1 Fat) and Island Vivaldi Julie (#5 GLPI, #10 Pro$). The Top 10 GLPI list also includes Lencrest Premier Coco ET (#6 GLPI, #19 Pro$, dam of Cocopuff), Redhot Matt Nova-ET (#7 GLPI, #16 Pro$, tied #9 Conformation, full sister to Tesla), Guimo Zuma Julia ET (#8 GLPI, #44 Pro$, dam of Island Vivaldi Julie) and Guimo Vivaldi Lysanne (tied #9 GLPI, #58 Pro$). The three cows to complete the Top Pro$ list this round are Summum Vivaldi Ira (#7 Pro$, #12 GLPI), JX Ahlem Megatron Tracy 43605 {5} (#8 Pro$, #11 GLPI, #3 Fat) and Reyla Barnabas Dolce Vita (#9 Pro$, #25 Pro$).
