Wisconsin State Fair Dairy Promotion Board scholarships

The Wisconsin State Fair Dairy Promotion Board is offering $1,000 scholarships to students that will be third or fourth- year college students during the 2018-19 academic year. Additional $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors that will be first-year college students during the 2018-19 academic year. Students studying in a two-year program are also encouraged to apply.

Any Wisconsin resident who will enroll or is currently enrolled as a full-time student in a two or four-year Wisconsin school or short course program and is pursuing a dairy-related or food science degree is eligible for scholarship consideration. PREVIOUS RECIPIENTS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO APPLY.

All applicants are required to submit an application electronically no later than MARCH 23, 2018. Save application as LAST NAME, FIRST NAME and e-mail to [email protected] using the subject – Wisconsin State Fair Dairy Promotion Board Scholarship Application. Attach your transcript as a separate document. HAND-WRITTEN APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. MAILED APPLICATIONS/TRANSCRIPTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Applicants will be evaluated on involvement and leadership in dairy-related activities, scholastic achievement, and career objectives. The scholarship committee will select finalists from the eligible applications received. Finalists will be interviewed, with the recipients to be recognized at both the Dairyland Youth Celebration and Blue Ribbon Cheese & Butter Auction during the 2018 Wisconsin State Fair. Please note that in order for continued consideration, students that qualify for an interview must be available on the interview date selected during business hours.

Scholarship recipients must continue enrollment in the suggested curriculum and maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher or forfeit scholarship monies. Scholarships will be awarded at the completion of the first semester and at the time the Wisconsin State Fair Dairy Promotion Board has received a copy of registration for the second semester and a current transcript.
