New Ag Academy at 2015 All-American Dairy Show to Highlight Progressive Dairy with Virtual Tour

Harrisburg, PA – Visitors to the All-American Ag Academy can take a tour of a progressive dairy without leaving North America’s largest exhibition of elite dairy cattle: the 2015 All-American Dairy Show at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg from September 12-17.

The virtual tour showcases GlamourView Farm, a state-of-the-art dairy built in 2014 in Walkersville, Md., in a video presentation that highlights its cutting-edge technology from calf care to milking parlor and features insights from GlamourView partners Craig Walton and Emily Thornburg.

The presentation is part of the new All-American Ag Academy that provides educational opportunities to attendees in the Dairy Activities Center during trade show hours. The GlamourView video will run at the top of the hour every day 10AM-3PM during All-American week.

Viewers will experience the barn, which houses the operation’s elite multi-breed show string and the farm’s robotic milking system. The presentation also showcases the automated calf feeding system, robotic feed pusher, the latest in cow comfort, sensitive alley scrapers and an automatic ventilation system.

It also highlights how the farm harnesses natural resources, discussing the solar energy system and its panels covering the freestall barn roof as well as the operation’s rainwater collection system.

Along the way, Walton and Thornburg will tell the story of how GlamourView began in 2014, discuss the benefits of the new technologies and efficiency improvements, and share their goals for the operation’s future.

Learn more about the GlamourView story by visiting the Dairy Activities Center, which also features a trade show, the All-Dairy Antiques Show and food vendors.

The All-American features 22 shows in six days in addition to the nation’s only all-dairy antiques show. Last year’s show featured nearly 2,800 animals and more than 1,300 exhibitors from across the nation. For more information, visitwww.allamerican.state.pa.us.
