Jersey Canada Communications Coordinator

Jersey Canada is a vibrant, growing, national breed association based in Guelph, Ontario. We are currently  looking for a Communications Coordinator to join our energetic team. This individual will be passionate about the Canadian dairy industry, and have experience with graphic design, copywriting, public relations, social media, marketing implementation, budgeting & expense control, and will have excellent customer service skills. French language skills are considered a significant asset.

The Communications Coordinator is a full time creative, self-motivated, independent individual that will be responsible for the print image of Jersey Canada, including the national magazine, The Canadian Jersey Breeder,snd related projects.

The Communications Coordinator will support the communications and communication vehicles for Jersey Canada, website management, and the design of advertisements for The Canadian Jersey Breeder, as well as other projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Creation, design and execution of Canadian Jersey Breeder magazine
• Development and coordination oflayout, design and editing of all print marketing materials
• Actively recruit advertisers for the Canadian Jersey Breeder magazine, and design such ads as  requested by advertisers
• Design and execute special print marketing projects, including direct mailings, All Canadian  Competition, and Cow of the Year Competition
• Lead for development and maintenance of Jersey Canada website and its contents, ensuring the website is always accurate and informative
• Website creation and maintenance for external clients as contracted
• Event support and customer relations
• Maintain Jersey Canada trade show display for use at industry events
• Serve as secretary for various committees

Capabilities Required

1. Computer Related Experience
• MAC and PC
• Experience with Adobe CS5 Creative Suite including: InDesign, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator
• Microsoft Office Suite: Word Processing, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook
2. Communications – Written and oral presentations to be above average
3. Interpersonal Skills -Above average interpersonal skills are critical for the position
4. Planning & Organization- Effective planning of priorities and timing is important
5. Workload- Some weekend and evening commitment will be required
6. Knowledge/Education – Communications or graphic design background; knowledge of the cattle industry preferred
7. Language – Ability to communicate in both English and French is considered a strong asset.

Jersey Canada Interim Registrar

Jersey Canada is a vibrant, growing, national breed association based in Guelph, Ontario.  We are currently looking for an Interim Registrar to join our energetic team, filling a maternity leave contract.  This individual will be passionate about the Canadian dairy industry, have experience with data input and administration, and will have excellent customer service skills.  French language skills are considered a significant asset.

Key Responsibilities:

Registry Services
• Process all registrations and transfers for live animals and embryos
• Maintain DNA Certificates and Genomic Records
• Field pedigree requests for internal & external clients
• Create Sale Catalogues and/or fill pedigree requests for catalogues
• Enter Show Results into herdbook database
• Data imports and exports
• Annual award tabulations
• Primary contact with ABRI for database support

Customer Service
• Assist with incoming and outgoing inquiries
• Assist Office Administrator with financial data entry
• Serve as secretary for various committees (i.e. plan meetings, record minutes, develop action item reports)
