Australia’s Stars of the Future Sale

Yet again a huge crowd of interested dairy enthusiasts were at the Echuca Showgrounds for the annual Stars of the Future night sale. North West Victorian Breeders along with consignments from all parts of Victoria and into SA & NSW made up an outstanding catalogue of Holsteins.

Sale top came late in the sale when Crookslea End Steadytopsy sold for $10300. This daughter of the 2012 Melbourne Royal Supreme Intermediate Champion sold a/c Wilkie & Shea of Bacchus Marsh to B & L Windridge of Cohuna. Next top of $9100 was paid by Tasmanian Breeders S & S Armstrong for Gorbro Fever Unbelievable, a July 12 born heifer from a VG 87 2 year old Baxter from a Champion from the World famed Gypsy Grand, she sold a/c R & J Gordon of Cohuna.

Third top lot at $7500 was McLennan Park Goldchip Roulette (imp USA ET), an April born heifer backed by 14 generations of EX dams from the Pinehurst Audrey Posch family. She sold a/c L Logan of Heywood to S & R Joyce. The Flanagan Family sold the outstanding Woodlawn Fever Ashlyn 4704, she is from a VG Toystory bred down from Tri Day Ashlyn EX 96 and was purchased by GJ Quinn & Sons of Cohuna at $7400. Dot Com Holsteins of Kialla sold Dot Com Beacon Faith (imp NLD ET) from the Ralma Juror Faith family bred to sexed Jetfin at $7100 to T & E Harry of Tennyson. These buyers also selected the top young cow Holloddon Vacum Corrine 1985 VG 86, doing 45 litres and bred from 6 gens of EX & VG dams from the Holland family of Newbridge at $6100.

The show winning 3 year old View Fort Destry Della sold a/c Patullo & Weller at $7000 to S & S Griffiths of Katunga. Also at $7000 was Kearla Windbrook Toni a January born heifer from Windy Vale Inquirer Tiffy EX 92 a/c K & C Gass to the well known Clydebank Herd. Other noted sales included Gorbro Golden O Shimmer, a Goldwyn from 5 gens of EX dams a/c R & J Gordon at $6500 to S & S Armstrong of Tasmania. Bushlea Zel Satin a milking 2 yo sold with 4 embryos from her dam Leader RJ Satin at $6200 from Bushlea Farms to B McGilvray of Cohuna. The 4 month daughter of the Adelaide & Melbourne winning 5 yo, High Green Bolton Noni EX 92 sold from S & R Joyce at $6100 to R & J Gordon. Paringa Braxton Parry from an EX champion from the famed Paradise family sold to C & M Gleeson of Elm Banks Holsteins at $6000. The Glennan family sold the outstanding young cow Aryllea Dolman Sonnet 2nd VG on 1st lactation, winner at several shows for $5800 to J Raeside of Timboon.

Jetstar Holstein donated a package of 4 embryos to the Sheri Martin memorial fund, they sold for $3200.
