Agenda Released for AJCA Annual Meeting

The 152nd annual meeting of the American Jersey Cattle Association will also be held virtually. The meeting will be on Saturday, June 27, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. (EDT). Members will elect a President and four Directors and consider any other business that may properly come before the meeting. Reports will be given by the President, Executive Secretary and Treasurer.

During the virtual meeting, retiring directors – Alan Chittenden, Schodack Landing, N.Y.; Eddie Kirchdoerfer, Cape Girardeau, Mo.; and Kelly Moss, Litchfield Park, Ariz. – will be honored for their years of service.

Four cows and their owners will be recognized for production achievements in 2019. Leading Living Lifetime production achievements will be recognized with the presentation of the Ogston Farm Trophy, High Lawn Farm Trophy, and Edyvean Farm Trophy to the highest milk, fat and protein production cows in the breed. Lawtons Rescue Finess, bred and owned by Timothy Lawton, Newark Valley, N.Y., is receiving the Ogston Farm Trophy for her lifetime milk totals of 296,981 lbs.

Another New York bred cow – Dutch Hollow Rebel Diva-P – will be awarded the High Lawn and Edyvean trophies for producing 15,838 lbs. fat and 10,626 lbs. protein as of December 31, 2019. She is bred and owned by Karin Chittenden Couch, Schodack Landing, N.Y.

Two Missouri cows from the State Line Jersey herd in Seneca, will be honored with the President’s Trophy and the Hilmar Cheese Award. SLJ AJ Weijah, owned by Maelee Clark, is this year’s recipient of the President’s Trophy. She had the highest m.e. for pounds protein in 2019 with 1,401 lbs. at 2 years and 11 months.

Her herdmate, SLJ Country Majerle, will receive the Hilmar Cheese Trophy for the highest amount of cheese yield in 2019 with 4,674 lbs. of cheese. She is owned by Treasure Clark.
