75th Year for Port Perry Fair - Cowsmo

75th Year for Port Perry Fair

Canada’s Longest Running County Holstein Show is celebrating 75 years of Tradition and Excellence at the Port Perry Fair on Monday, September 3rd at 10 a.m.

For 75 years, the Port Perry Fairgrounds has been home to the Ontario County Holstein Show. Originally called a black and white day, the show has grown from just 17 exhibitors in 1938 to more than 30 exhibitors in recent years.
The 2012 show will celebrate the tradition of the past 75 shows, showing in our unique outdoor ring, with animals tied in traditional shed rows. Little has changed at the Port Perry Fairgrounds over the years. The show continually attracts a large ringside and the weather has traditionally been very favourable.
At our 75th show, we will celebrate the excellence that has become synonymous with Ontario County’s Holstein cows. Ontario County is home to breeders such as Roy Ormiston, T. Robt. Flett, Elmcroft Farms, Hanover Hill Holsteins, Holtbyholme Holsteins, Raivue Farms, Phoenix Bros., Werrcroft Farms and Loa-De-Mede Farms.

Come take a “Walk Down Memory Lane” in our tent on Monday. Watch a video from past shows, view the slide show of all the past champions, vote on Ontario County’s All-Time Supreme Champion, chat with all the past judges of the show, view some historic pictures, ribbons, trophies and prizes and watch one our competitive Holstein Show.

Please join us as we celebrate this milestone. We look forward to hosting you.
