Virtual Spring Shows 2020

2020 @

New competitions have been added to our Virtual Spring Show from the Canadian Guernsey Association and the US Ayrshire Association!
While the corona-virus and its many complications have thrown a wrench into our 2020 Spring Show season, we here at Cowsmo are delighted to see the ‘adapt and improvise’ character of our industry come to the forefront! We’re loving all of the ideas and formats for virtual shows being presented by people that are passionate about their dairy breed, and passionate about showing!

Below we will be posting links and information for the virtual show’s taking place!

We want to promote these great initiatives so send us the social media links to your virtual show whether it’s on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram – whatever! We’ll post it on this page and promote your show, the entries and winners free of charge.

We wish we were meeting in person and saying hello at the various spring shows and sales – and we’re counting the days until we see all of you again. Until then, let’s keep connecting and keep promoting our cattle!

2020 Canadian National Guernsey Breeder's Cup

Activity is going on at all kinds of different levels across Canada as Guernsey owners prepare for Friday’s May 1st deadline for the 2020 Canadian National Guernsey Breeder’s Cup, the online version!

Entries started flowing in late last week and we now have entries from one Ontario herd and one Nova Scotian herd.

We have indications of entries being prepped for three other Ontario herds and at least one herd in New Brunswick. Hoping for at least 50 entries over the five classes! And maybe, entries from Quebec and BC too!

Let’s make our rockstar level panel of three International judges have a great job ahead of them!

Entries close FRIDAY, MAY 1ST and then the first phase of judging begins!

Visit their Facebook page or website for more details!

Open Ayrshire Virtual Spring Show

Introducing the OPEN version of the US Ayrshire Breeder Association & National Ayrshire Youth Virtual Spring Show!

We want to see what’s in your barn! We have broken it down in to 4 age categories! Calves, yearlings, 2 and 3 yr olds and 4 and over. If we are blessed to have more than 10 per class we will break it down farther.

We are asking $5.00 per entry and you can enter as many as you like! We will have a panel of 4 judges. As well as a ‘likes’ winner.

Due to convention being canceled and our largest fundraiser losing some momentum, we are needing to get creative with our fundraising! Help us out! We are still securing a few big ticket prizes for winners! If you are interested in helping with that give us a shout! Kids, if you entered the youth show we would love to see them in the open portion as well!

Instructions
1. Post a side shot and rear shot photo in the comments with the animals Name, DOB, and Owner.
2. Photo must be a CURRENT one, and not a professional shot.
3. Pay your fee at paypal to [email protected] or contact us for help.
4. Entries must be posted by Monday, May 4th at 1pm EST and results will be announced on our live that night! The earlier you can get them up the more chance for likes!

Kids week activity spinoff included in this contest ! As soon as we get enough for a class, we will take 4 of the animals posted and make a class for you to judge. You will private message your placings to us! For an extra drawing, video a set of reasons for the class and include with your placings!

We have made it super simple so that it is fun and do-able for everyone! Remember the more you enter, the more chance to win so don’t be shy help these kids out and win some recognition for your girls that you have been working with!

They have provided example videos on their Facebook page to help assist the members in making their own video.

You have until May 1st to register for the virtual judgement and May 20th to send Ayrshire Canada your video!
