Kailey Herd Dispersal Sale

The on-farm dispersal of Rob and Katrina Kelly’s Kailey herd took place on Tuesday 4th April near Oamaru, New Zealand. With the majority of the herd already sold privately the remaining 47 elite animals achieved the following averages: 28 cows $4223, 13 heifers $4769, 6 calves $3292.


Leading price at $11,000 was Kailey Atwood Jessy, Lot 5. This in-calf heifer is due in July. She is out of Blondin Alexander Jessy who is a daughter of Willowhome Goldwyn Jessica EX96-3E.

Second top price at $10,000 was the September 2015-born Kailey Sid Bonnie. Crowned South Island junior champion 2017, she is due to calve in July to sexed Brewmaster. She is a daughter of Kailey Shottle Bonnie EX, then Karona Goldwyn Britanie EX90, Karona Emerson Bonnie EX93-2E 11*, going back to La Presentation Daurel EX 63*.
Kailey Shottle Bonnie EX herself sold for $9000 as Lot 3. She sold in-calf to sexed Solomon, due in July, having given 9491 litres at 4.04%bf and 3:45%p in her third lactation.
Also selling for $9000 was in-calf heifer, Kailey Goldchip Liza. Due in July to sexed Brewmaster, this heifer is a great-granddaughter of the million dollar Lylehaven Lila Z, with her dam an EX92 Sanchez and then a VG88 Goldwyn.
Windy Knoll View Pledge is the third dam of the $8250, Kailey Atwood Pledg. This four-year old is due in September with her third calf to Morgan Mr Snow Business. She is out of MS Golden Prom, a Goldwyn daughter of Windy-Knoll-View Permit EX92.
First in the sale ring, Kailey Alexandra, sold for $8000. This grand-daughter of MS Kingstead Chief Adeen EX94-2E is out of BVK Atwood Alex VG89. She is due in July with her second calf to Sid.
