BC Spring Holstein Show Announces Cancellation

The BC Branch Board of Directors, along with the 2020 Show Committee have made the difficult decision to cancel the BC Spring Show, on March 20, 2020 at Chilliwack Heritage Park, as a precautionary measure in response to the spread of COVID-19. This decision includes the Tier 1 Judging School as well as the Youth Showmanship Competition. The decision is acting in accordance with the advice from the Provincial Health Officer and Minister of Health authorities. Their recommendations for social distancing would be difficult to guarantee in our barn space.

Exhibitors and sponsors will be contacted shortly regarding their entry fees and sponsorship funds.

Thank you for your support as we have navigated this quickly ever-changing situation. This decision has been challenging but we feel this is the right decision to keep our community and families safe and healthy. We extend gratitude to our exhibitors, and sponsors for their support and encouragement, we will look forward to a fresh beginning for our 2021 show!

Monday, March 16th
12noon: Barns open to exhibitors to set up
6:00pm: Open House at Westcoast Holsteins (8565 Prest Rd, Chilliwack, BC V2P 6H3)

Tuesday, March 17th
10am-3:00PM: Heritage Hut Open
5:00pm: Exhibitor move-in deadline for participation in the Westcoast Classic Sale
7:00pm: Draft pick for the Westcoast Classic Sale (Trading can begin immediately)

Wednesday, March 18th
9:00am: Tag checks for entries in the 2020 BC Holstein Spring Show (all cattle must be moved onto the grounds by this time)
10am-3:00pm: Heritage Hut open
11:00am: Welcome West with T&L Cattle Sale (Cowsmo coverage)
4:30pm: Bus’s leave for the Vancouver Canucks vs. Tampa Bay Lightening (Bus’s will leave from the Sure Stay Hotel)
11:59pm: Trading of draft picks for the Westcoast Classic Sale closes

Thursday, March 19th
10am-3:00pm: Heritage Hut open
10:00am: BC Holsteins Tier 1 Judging School (in the show ring)
2:00pm: BC Holstein Youth Showmanship Competition
4:00pm: Video recording of lots for Westcoast Classic Sale closes
6:00pm: Westcoast Classic Sale (Cowsmo coverage)

Friday, March 20th
8am-3:00pm: Heritage Hut open
8:30am: BC Holstein Spring Show
8:00pm: Show reception (47520 Prairie Central Rd., Chilliwack, BC) – Shuttle bus will leave the Sure Stay Hotel at 7:45pm
