Oakfield Corners Dairy is run and owned by Gordon, Jonathan and Matthew Lamb and Jim Veazey. The Lamb family has been farming for 11 generations, and has been at the current facility in Oakfield, NY, for 51 years. They have three facilities in New York and one in Ohio, with a total of 8500 milking and 8000 young stock with 99% Holstein.
The Oakfield Corners Dairy team is excited to host the 2021 Growing Through Showing Workshop. With a few spots still available, reach out to Oakfield today to be apart of this fun and exciting program! In addition to including tips and tricks for the show ring, we will feature technology and real-world learning experiences on the farm. The program is open to 4-H/FFA/breed association youth of all experience levels, and participants will be grouped according to skill level. All students will tour the new robotic rotary milking system at the farm and participate in dairy promotions/public relations, as well as break-out sessions.
Due to the ongoing Covid pandemic, we ask that all attendees wear masks during sessions that are held indoors and respect social distancing guidelines. We will have varying start times throughout the day to allow for smaller groups and fewer people on farm.
We are pleased to offer the workshop, souvenir T-shirt, and lunch for a minimal reservation fee of $5 per youth attendee. Parents/leaders may accompany students during the workshop. Please note the number of adults that will be in attendance and include $5/adult to cover the cost of lunch. Registrations will be accepted until June 5, or until a maximum of 200 youth participants are enrolled.
The Growing Through Showing Workshop will be held on July 2 at Lamb Farms #2, 3962 Batavia-Elba Townline Rd, Oakfield, NY 14125
