Mosnang Holsteins is located in Rimbey, AB, which is about 90 minutes southwest of Edmonton. The Hehli family, who immigrated from Switzerland in 1980, milks 100 cows in a freestall barn with a step up parlour. There herd is mostly Holstein, with a few Jerseys as well, and many of the animals in their herd can be traced back to Mosnang Lightning Bolt EX-92 2E 3* and Westpride Petula B EX 9*. At Mosnang, the aim is to breed cows for type and production that can compete at shows and make superior lactations for many years. Proof of that includes cows like Mosnang Saloon Liquor who was Grand Champion at Alberta Dairy Congress 2018 and has claimed two titles in the All-Western competition the past two consecutive years, all while completing two Superior Lactations.
Mosnang Holsteins is gearing up for the Westerner Dairy Showcase being held this week in Red Deer, AB. They have updated their Facebook page with happenings around the farm.
