Lovholm Holsteins is located in Balgonie, Saskatchewan, approximately 30 minutes east of Regina, and is owned and operated by Michael and Jessica Lovich.
At Lovholm, 65-70 cows are milked with the goal to produce strong, healthy cows that are conformationally superior, milk well and can fit into anyone’s breeding program. Bulls are selected from proven cow families with a focus on type and functional traits.
A broad scope of cow families are worked with at the farm including Bienert Encounter Kim EX-90 4E who is the dam of Lovhill Goldwyn Katrysha EX-96, the Grand & Supreme Champion at World Dairy Expo in 2015 after being Reserve Grand at WDE & the Royal in 2014.
Lovholm Holsteins was featured in a Cowsmo exclusive article “Breeding Cows for a Sustainable Future-Lovholm Holsteins.”
Lovholm Holsteins has announced on their Facebook page that they were awarded Breeder of the Year at their recent Annual Awards night. Other excitement included Lovhill Goldwyn Sugar who was named Saskatchewan’s Cow of the Year!
