Kozak Holsteins is located in New Sarepta, Alberta, which is about 40 minutes southeast of Edmonton. The Kozak family milks 70 cows, but plan to expand to 120 cows in their newly finished freestall barn. The Kozak’s generally breed for type, using proven sires from well-known cow families, but also have some emphasis on production and components as well. They have one higher genomic family that they work with, tracing back to Larcrest Cosmopolitan, and have spent the last 10 years developing their Red & White genetics and polled genetics with descendants from Dewitts Debbie VG 5* and Goldfawn Hol Macey-Red EX-91 4*.
With their new barn up and running for a year now, Kozak Holsteins took in the opportunity to open it up to the public and provided some summer tours. They have updated their Facebook page with photos highlighting the tours.
