Police say a cow broke its neck and died last week after vandals let hundreds of cows out of their pens at a Maine farm.
Clinton police Senior Patrol Officer Karl Roy said Tuesday that about 150 milking cows were released from their pen at Misty Meadow Farm on the night of Nov. 29 or early Nov. 30. Farm workers rounded up the cows and got them back into their pens.
About an hour later, Roy says roughly 500 cows were released and discovered by the next shift of workers. One of the cows fell into a drainage hole and broke its neck.
He says other acts of vandalism were done at a nearby farm.
Police are asking for the public’s help in finding the suspects.
