Holstein Canada is a proud supporter of various youth activities and events across Canada. “Our dairy youth represent our future and it is very important that we support them and invest in activities that will develop them as leaders” comments Robert Chabot, Holstein Canada Board representative on the Young Adult Advisory Committee.
Each year, six bursaries are presented to young adults across Canada involved in the dairy business and still attending University or College. Recipients are selected from geographic regions across Canada, 1 from West, 2 from Ontario, 2 from Québec and 1 from Atlantic. In 2013 these awards were increased to $1000 each (from $750). Applications can be made on Holstein Canada’s website starting the first week of October. Final selections will be made by the end of December.
“We have been impressed with the quality of applicants” comments Janet Walker, Young Adult Coordinator, “the cost to attend University or College continues to rise so this investment will be much appreciated.”
