Cowsmo Expands Sales Force in USA

Cowsmopolitan is pleased to welcome Tracy Nelson and Amy Schaufelberger to the Cowsmo team!  Tracy and Amy will be responsible for USA sales for both in print and online advertising as well as coverage of events in their respective areas. 

Tracy Nelson – Northern Midwest and Western USA Sales Representative

Tracy Nelson grew up on her family’s 100 cow dairy farm in Northwest Wisconsin.  She was very active in the 4-H dairy project as a member of the dairy judging team and showing Holsteins.

 Tracy studied Dairy Science, Biotechnology, and Ag Marketing at the University of Wisconsin – River Falls. A member of the track team and dairy club Tracy was also able to help out on the farm as she furthered her education in River Falls.  While attending UWRF, Tracy had the opportunity to work with NorthStar Select Sires as a sales & marketing intern, experiencing various aspects the AI industry has to offer.

 Following graduation Tracy spent nearly 8 years utilizing her biotechnology degree to perform various types of genetic purity testing services in a seed lab.  The dairy cow always her true passion  Tracy remains active in dairy helping out whenever needed and continues to own registered animals.

Tracy has remained very involved in the dairy industry as a 4-H leader, Holstein Club secretary and currently as a director of the Wisconsin Holstein Association’s Board of Directors.  Through the Holstein Foundation and her volunteering for Common Ground Wisconsin Tracy continues to educate the public about the agriculture industry and the safety of their food supply.

Tracy and her husband Marc have 4 children and currently reside on a small farm near her home farm in Northwestern Wisconsin.  Her children: Paige (15), Hannah (13), Mitchell (11), & Levi (6) share her love for the dairy cow.

Tracy will be responsible for the Northern Mid-West & Western USA sales area where she will cover Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa and all Western States selling both in print and online advertising.

Amy Schaufelberger -Southern Mid-West & Eastern USA Sales Representative

Amy Schaufelberger

Amy Schaufelberger grew up on Schaufine Farms, her family’s dairy and grain operation in Southern Illinois.  She remains active on the registered Holstein farm and has enjoyed exhibiting cattle and attending shows and meeting new faces in the dairy industry.

Amy graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Agricultural Communications specializing in advertising with a minor in Animal Sciences. Through her college experience, she was given the opportunity to be a member of the dairy judging team, winning several awards and the dairy challenge team. Amy also travel with the Illini Dairy Club and tour dairies in the US and internationally.    

Amy’s experience includes social media intern for the Illinois Corn Marketing Board and Account Services intern at Osborn & Barr. Amy’s writing experience includes being a guest writer for Dairy Agenda today in 2010 and the Co-Editor of Pipeline yearbook for 2 years and the Editor of Homefront in 2010. In 2012  During her internship with the Holstein World Amy wrote sire profiles for their in-print magazine as well as covering a variety of events including shows and conventions.

Amy also served as the Illinois Holstein Dutchess for 2012.  Currently Amy oversees the Public Relations committee as chair handling publications, promotions and website for the Illinois Holstein Association.

Amy will be responsible for in print and online advertising sales in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan & Missouri as well as the Eastern states.  She will also be a regular contributor to the editorial content for Cowsmo.
