Tremendous Success for the 2012 Genomic Power Sale!

Friday, November 2, 2012 St-Hyacinthe , Quebec, the lights came up, the music turned on and it was time for the second edition of the Genomic Power Sale (GPS) to start! A total of 47 lots of top genomic animals or first choice opportunities sold in the 2012 GPS managed by Trans-America Genetics. Visit their updated website here

The high seller was Lot number 1, Benner Fork JANARDAN, at $150,000. This exceptional individual consigned by Tranquillity Farms and Andrew Clark is the #1 Fork daughter in the world. She sold open and ready to work for purchaser Greg Noble.

The second high seller was Lot number 11, Marbri Uno BEAUTY, the #17 GTPI female in the world consigned by Kenneth J. Pfaffs. Beauty sold for $145,000 to Tranquillity Genetics and Andrew Clark. Tranquillity also purchased Lot number 16, Ste-Odile Moon Model AMALUNA, the current #5 GPA-LPI of the breed at 3798 who sold for $110,000.

The sale averaged $29,597 including the lot sold for charity. The 2012 GPS sales total almost 1.5 million dollars.

The attendance was excellent with the Hotel des Seigneurs ballroom at full capacity. The evening started at 7pm with a welcome for visitors attending the World Holstein Conference. All guests enjoyed taffy on the snow and ice cream samples before moving upstairs for the pre-sale cocktail. Dignitaries and media representatives were present including the Quebec National Assembly Deputy representing St-Hyacinthe, Mr. Emilien Pelletier.
