Celebrating 100 years of the Wisconsin Brown Swiss Breeders, the Swisstacular Sale 2016 was held on Friday June 24th in Beaver Dam, WI. The sale averaged $2,616 on 24 Live Lots and one Choice. The Choice, Lot 11, topped the sale at $6,000.

Sale Results


On Friday the Swisstacular sale had many active phone and pre-sale bidders competing with the in-person bidders.

High seller at $6,000 was Lot 11, a first choice MAS out of  JoDee Kingpin Raisin Hell VG85, a Kingpin daughter of JoDee Nemo Risky 2E-92. She was consigned by Powerline Swiss and purchased by Sparxflyn and Frosted Beauty Swiss of Epworth, IA.

Highest live lot was Lot 3, selling for $4,200. Power Line Bnza Niteshade-ET is a Bonanza summer yearling out of an EX90 Premium daughter of Valligrove Jetway Nora 2E-93. She was purchased by the partnership of Ben Everson and Ronald Kelm and consigned by Ronald Kelm.

Sale cattle were managed by Allen “Spud” Paulson with Jim Hammerand on pedigrees, Chris Lundgren as auctioneer, and Tammy Voegeli as clerk. A total of 24 live lots and one choice lot were sold with an average of $2,616.

Wisconsin Brown Swiss holds The Swisstacular Sale this weekend!


Madison, Wis. (June 23, 2016) – The Wisconsin Brown Swiss Association is proud to invite you to The Swisstacular Sale Friday, June 24, 2016 at 11:30am in Beaver Dam at the Dodge County Fairgrounds, N6755 High Point Rd, Juneau, WI. The sale is held in conjunction with the Wisconsin State Show and is part of the year long 100th Celebration of the Association. “An exclusive offering of 31 exceptional lots will be offered from some of the very best pedigrees in the breed. The animals are on the grounds and look great. We cherry-picked the best of the best and it’s exciting to see all the work pay off with such a great lineup,” notes Allyn “Spud” Paulson.  He and his crew will have them show ready for entry in the state show the following day.

“This is a very special year for the Wisconsin Brown Swiss Association and I encourage you to add to, or find your first Big Brown Cow this weekend,” states Wisconsin Brown Swiss President, Tammy Voegeli. She also invites everyone to attend the State Show on Saturday at the fairgrounds beginning at 8:30am with heifer lots and followed by cow lots at 12:30pm. Friday there will be an exhibitor supper at 5:30pm followed by junior showmanship at 7:30pm.

The Wisconsin Brown Swiss Association promotes breeding, showing, and marketing of Brown Swiss cattle through support of the many breeders in the state.
