Topping the sale was Lot 9 at $14,700, a +2595GTPI Belair from a VG86 Sudan, consigned by David Woods, Amsterdam, NY. The unofficial average for the sale was $6,295.


The New York Convention ET Sale 2016 was held in conjunction with the New York Holstein Convention on Thursday, January 14th in Utica, NY. The average for the sale was $6,295 on 29 full lots, and the sale was co-managed by The Cattle Exchange and the New York Holstein Association.

Topping the sale was Lot 9 at $14,700 was Eildon Tweed Bel Sudan 1-ET, an April 2015, a +2595GTPI Belair, selling ready to IVF.  She is out of a VG86 Sudan, follwed by a GP83 Freddie, a VG88 Armstead and then an EX94-3E Ramos, with two more generations of VG cows. She was consigned by David Woods, Amsterdam, NY and was the purchase of Higher Ransom Holsteins, NY.

Two lots were tied for second high seller for the evening. Lots 2 and 7 each commanded a price of $14,000 before the gavel came down.

Selling for $14,000 as Lot 2 was San-Dan Delta 32053-ET, a +2672GTPI +838NM$ August 2015 Delta from a+2300GTPI Cashcoin from 9 generations of VG & EX dams. She was the consignment of Dan & Glen Morman, IA and was purchased by Sexing Technologies, TX.

Also bringing $14,000 was Lot 7, Kandy Kreek Delta Marcia, a +2652GTPI Delta from a VG86 Sterling, with four more generations of EX and VG dams. Marcia was consigned by Progenesis LP, ON and was purchased by Elite Dairy Genomics, IL.

The fourth high seller at $11,250 was Lot 1, a choice of three Rubicon full sisters ranging from +2617-+2644GTPI, out of a VG87-DOM Supersire from five more generations of EX and VG cows. She was consigned by Fly-Higher Holsteins, NY and was purchase of Eildon Tweed Holsteins, NY.

Rounding out the top five at $8,600 was Lot 22, the first choice of twelve female embryos sired by Diamondback and Dempsey, implanted in December for September 2016 calves. These embryos are out of Lylehaven Atwood Lylly EX95, an Atwood daughter of Thiersant Lili Starbuck EX94-5E. This choice was consigned by Mike Garrow and Marlene Holmes, NY and was selected by Bill Carlson, NY.
