The Many Maples Brown Swiss Complete Dispersal 2016 was held on Saturday, May 7th at the farm near Georgetown, NY. A capacity crowd was on hand to appreciate the quality offering of good uddered cows, resulting from a successful breeding program, with dedication to daily cow care.
Cattle sold to five states and Quebec, with 80 head averaging $2,419.
Top seller of the day was Many Maples Lil Bit VG87-90MS-2YR. Lil Bit is a Brookings daughter and was purchased for $9,000 by Ken Main and Peter Vail of Elite Dairy, NY.
The second high seller, bringing $6,000, was Many Maples Linda, a promising young milking two year old Cadence daughter. She is making her new home with Karch Manley, NY.
Next in line was one of three EX foundation animals
purchased by Scarlet-Summer Holsteins & Brown Swiss,
Jarrod & Madison Burleigh, PA. The high seller of
this group at $5,400 was a sixth generation EX Vigor due in
July to Carter. Another in their group, and EX92 TD sold for $4,100.
The Many Maples Dispersal was managed by Hosking Sales,
Tom & Brenda Hosking, New Berlin, NY with Tom as the
auctioneer and Brenda providing clerking. Wayne Sliker was
the pedigree man with Larry Hill and Denny Ferguson taking
bids from an active crowd.
