The Iowa Spring Extravaganza Sale 2017 was held Saturday, March 25th in West Union, IA. The sale featured all breeds and had an unofficial average of $3,012 on all live lots.
The top seller overall and top selling Holstein at $14,000 was Lot 5H Cowmpens Esperanza Estel EX91. She is a Lavanguard from a VG87 Dundee followed by 7 generations of EX & VG dams. She was consigned by Esperanza Cattle Co., MN and purchased by Eric Lang, IA.
Second high seller overall was the second high selling Holstein. Lot 1, EDG Jedi ZZ Prock-ET sold as Lot 1H. She is an August 2016 Jedi that is +2771GTPI +954NM +9.6PL +4.5DPR. She out of a GP81 AltaProck from a VG87-DOM Magnus and was consigned by Eric Lang & Donna Hansen, IA and was purchased by Jerry Jorgensen, MI & Faria Brothers, TX.
The third high seller was the top selling Guernsey. Lot 1G was Knapps Regis Tamlou-ETV, a September Regis daughter of Knapps Ace Tamera EX93. Tamlou is a full sister to Knapps Regis Tambourine EX95. She was consigned by Knapps Guernseys, IA and purchased by John Miller, ME.
Two lots tied for the overall high seller at $5,500. One was the top selling Ayrshire. Lot 32A, Designer-TA Dare to Dream was consigned by Tammy Voegeli and Ann Lerum, WI. This December calf is a Dreamer from a VG88 Oblique sister to Stein-Bush Reality Dazzle, the 2014 Unanimous All-American Fall Calf & Reserve All-American Fall Yearling in 2015. She was purchased by Vallowhill Farm, WI.
The high selling Milking Shorthorn also sold for $5,500. Lot 7MS was North Stars Pixie EXP, a Punky Fall Yearling due in September to Pompeii. She is out of a VG85 Dakota from an EX Patten and then four more generations of EX dams. She was consigned by Christopher Pederson, MN and purchased by Ashley Bushman, IA.
Rounding out the top five high prices was the second high selling Milking Shorthorn. Cherrywood Zippo Katrina sold for $5,400 as Lot 3MS. She was fresh in March and is out of a VG85 Patten. She was consigned by Nicholas Achen, KS and was purchased by Maynard Lang, IA.
The top selling Brown Swiss Lot sold for $4,500. Lot 3BS was Random Luck Jetway Top Gun, a June 2016 Jetway from a VG86 Parker out of an EX93-2E Bonanza with five more generations of EX dams. She was consigned by Allison Thompson, WI.
The high selling Jersey was Lot 4J, selling for $4,000. Edgebrook Arthur Grenadine-ET is a June Tequila sister to Gadget Jade of Edgebrook EX95. She is out of EX91 Jamaica. Grenadine was consigned by Myron Arthur, IA and purchased by David Jones, OK.
