The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV) has announced a new springtime show to its event calendar, the Royal Melbourne Dairy Show, which will take place on September 15 and 16 at the Melbourne Showgrounds.

The inaugural event will showcase the country’s finest dairy cattle immediately before the Royal Melbourne Show, which starts Saturday September 18, 2010.

Previously staged during the Royal Melbourne Show, the event will include the Kubota Dairy Youth Classic, dairy cattle breed and interbreed competitions, which culminate in the prestigious Royal Melbourne Champion Dairy Cow award. The Royal Melbourne Dairy Show claims it provides producers with a valuable spring focus for the dairy industry, with space for the competition to grow.
