IPS Advances Sire Lineup with January Sire Proofs

ROCK SPRINGS, WISC. – As the result of the January 2010 sire summaries, International Protein Sires (IPS) advanced their formidable proven sire offering.  “We were please with the results of our proven lineup as a result of the recent sire proofs.  The young sire graduates were particularly gratifying as they became new leaders in our growing battery of pacesetter genetics,” reported Ron Sersland, President and CEO of IPS.

A mainstay in the IPS offering, 6HO1036 Arrow, continued his leadership position for type traits.  At +2.94 type, Arrow is ranked number #6 in the Holstein breed.  His udder composite rating of  +2.96 puts him in the breed’s number #2 slot.  Arrow’s remarkable credentials are inherited from the great Adeen Cow Family.  Arrow’s dam is Amilaird Lee Alice, an EX-94 scored daughter of Lee.  His next two dams are also classified EX-94.  And, he is the sired by the renowned Durham. 

6HO1046 Bevan is the first of two new IPS young sire graduates.  With a TPI rating of +1841, Bevan tops out the IPS lineup.  Not only a solid milk bull, his superior components are: +0.18%/+56 lbs. fat and +0.04%/+17 lbs. protein.  This new addition also excels for fitness traits, being +2.9 for productive life.  Bevan’s sire is Boliver.  Lutz-Brookview Holsteins bred his maternal family consisting of five direct dams classified Excellent.   His sixth dam is Very good while the seventh dam is also Excellent.  Additionally, this strength and substance bull has been assigned 246135 by aAa.

6HO1044 Dakota enters the IPS lineup with sterling credentials.  His laudable milk yield combined with strong components, high udder composite and excellent management traits rate him at +1805 TPI.  Dakota is among the IPS leaders for productive life at +3.2 and a somatic cell score of 2.68.  A Boliver son, Dakota descends from four generations of excellent cows.  Rudolph is the sire of his dam, Ridge-Heights Entry.     

A great production bull, 6HO1050 Yankee comes in at a breed leading +2,236 pounds of milk.  His combined fat and protein yield is +149 lbs.  And, Yankee’s type traits are solid across the board.  Yankee is a Marshall son from Milkworth Manfred Yadda (VG-GMD-DOM).

The IPS bulls also achieved the following prestigious rankings.  6HO1030 Lilyman, 6HO1050 Yankee and 6HO1042 Linley were all in the top 15 for Milk Yield.  Two bulls were in the top ten for Somatic Cell Scare, 54HO480 Legend at #2 and 6HO1124 Tycoon-Red at #9.  A whopping 31% were above +2.0 for Productive Life.  And, 76% of the active lineup is positive for Semen Conception Rate.
