The 2009 All-American Red and White Dairy Cattle contest is finished and the winners have been announced. This is the 33rd year of the contest and the third year in which only approved Red & White shows were accepted. 147 were entered and 96 were nominated. All-American winners receive a beautiful plaque, Reserve and Honorable Mentions receive a certificate.

Our 15 judges for 2009 were: Tim Abbott, VT; Justin Burdette, PA; Brian Carscadden, ON, Canada; Michael Heath, MD; Chris Hill, MD; Luke Johnson, NY; Chris Lahmers, OH; Adam Liddle, NY; Jeremy McDonald, VA; Dennis Patrick, MD; Mark Rueth, WI; Carrie Sears, MA; Larry Tande, MN; Roger Turner, ON, Canada; Todd Wendorf, WI. 14 of our 15 judges officiated at an approved Red & White show in 2009. Our thanks to them for their prompt and professional placing of these and the Jr. All-American classes.

In 2009, there were 12 Unanimous All-Americans - Deslacs Glacier Alika-Red, MDHillbrook Sunburst-Red-ET, Sherona-Hill Redclover-Red-ET, L-Maples KHW Shari-Red-ET, Scenic-Edge Jellybean-Red, Pierstein Redman Superbe-Red, Ms Radiance Adv Rae- Red-ET, La Presentation Suzette-Red, Elmbridge FM Loveable-Red, KY-Blue Ruben Marla-Red-ET and Jerland Rubens Nan-Red-ET. Two of these outstanding individuals have marked their second year in a row as a Unanimous All-American - Scenic-Edge Jellybean-Red and Elmbridge FM Loveable-Red. What an amazing accomplishment!

Several All-Americans and Reserve All-Americans from 2008 returned to receive All- American honors in 2009. 2008 A-A Fall Calf Scenic-Edge Jellybean-Red returned as All-American Fall Yearling, 2008 A-A Spring Yearling returned as HHM All-American Jr. 2-Yr-Old, 2008 Res. A-A Spring Yearling Ms Radiance Adv Rae-Red-ET returned as this year's A-A Jr. 2-Yr-Old, 2008 A-A Sr. 2-Yr-Old Scenic-Edge Joyful-Red-ET returned as Res. A-A Sr. 3-Yr-Old and the A-A Sr. 2-Yr-Old from 2008 La Presentation Suzette-Red returns as this year's A-A Sr. 3-Yr-Old, 2008 A-A Sr. 3-Yr-Old Elmbridge FM Loveable- Red reclaims her A-A title as A-A 4-Yr-Old, 2008 HHM A-A 4-Yr-Old KY-Blue Ruben Marla-Red-ET is this year's A-A 5-Yr-Old, and Medovue Rub Manjulant-Red returns for a second year as Res. A-A 125,000 Lb. Cow in 2009.

On the sire side, Advent scored 6 All-Americans with 6 Reserves, Rubens added 3 All-Americans and 2 Reserves, while September Storm added 3 Reserve All-Americans. Redman finished with 1 All-American and 1 Reserve and Glacier also sired 1 All-American and 1 Reserve.
