Wisconsin Holstein Announces 2016 Summer Intern

The Wisconsin Holstein Association is pleased to announce Jessica Steger of Prairie du Chien Wis., as their 2016 Summer Intern. Jessica will be based out of the office in Baraboo, Wis.

During the summer Jessica will serve in a public relations role by attending numerous Wisconsin Holstein events around the state. Additionally, she will assist in the planning and coordination of the 2016 Wisconsin Holstein Futurity Show. Some of her responsibilities will include representing the office staff at numerous shows such as District and State shows as well as interviewing and writing feature Breeder Profiles for the Wisconsin Holstein News.

Jessica has been extremely involved on her family’s dairy, Steger Farms, where she assisted with feeding, show calf care and numerous other chores on the farm. She spends most of her summer time working with the family’s show herd.

Jessica has been an active member of the Crawford County Junior Holstein Association, where she has served as president for three years. She has also won the Wisconsin Holstein Association Speaking contest in 2014. Jessica has previously served as the Crawford County Dairy Princess.

Currently, Jessica is a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls majoring in Dairy Science. On campus she is an active member of the UWRF Dairy Club, UWRF Colligate Farm Bureau, and the UWRF Colligate Honor Society. Jessica was awarded this past October with UWRF National Residence Hall Honorary New Student of the Month.




Summer 2018
