All-West Select Sires adds technician
January 16, 2015

Turlock, CA-All-West Select Sires is pleased to announce the addition of Casey Rhoda to the technician team serving northern California.
Casey’s no stranger to the dairy industry, growing up and working on a 1450-head family-owned dairy in Oakdale, CA.  “I grew up working for my dad on the dairy and did anything and everything!” Casey explains.  “I gave shots, fed cows, pulled calves, did crop work and helped our herdsman with anything else that needed to be done.  It was a great experience and I got exposed to a lot of different jobs on the dairy.”

Casey graduated from Ripon Christian High School and after a few semesters at UC-Stanislaus, he transferred to Dordt College in Iowa where he received his general agriculture degree in the spring of 2014.  “I had an internship on a dairy while I was at Dordt which continued through the summer.  What a great experience it was to work for someone other than your own family.  You get a different feel for the business and how others manage their herds.  It was a fairly new 3000-cow dairy, so I enjoyed learning and working with new equipment and technology as well.”

As with many family farms, Casey wasn’t sure where his place would be on the dairy, which prompted him to attend school and learn how to breed cows.  “I love the dairy industry and I’m really interested in both genetics and reproductive performance.”

“My goal as a technician is to build strong producer relationships and take the worry out of getting cows pregnant,” Casey says.  “It will be my job to be the ‘go-to’ guy who can talk to customers about our tremendous lineup of sires and programs, but just as importantly, give them outstanding, reliable technician service and keep a close eye on their cows.  Helping dairies achieve reproductive and genetic success will be the greatest feeling and it’s the ultimate goal of what we all do.  I’m excited to get started!”

Casey spends his spare time playing slow-pitch softball and also coaching the 7th grade boy’s basketball team at his high school Alma Mater.  He’s also active in his church and frequently plays guitar as part of the music ministry.  To contact Casey for more information on the All-West Select Sires lineup, or technician service, please call 209.573.0872 or email [email protected]
