Professional Dairy Producers Foundation announces latest round of grants

The Professional Dairy Producers Foundation board of directors has announced its latest round of grants for education and community projects for dairy producers. Each grant is for up to $5,000 and go to organizations with unique projects which build producer professionalism or maintain public trust.

Among the recipients in this round:
•The American Guernsey Association to fund the Guernsey Graduate program training 21 to 35 year-old dairy leaders.
•The Yahara Pride Farms program to educate farmers of the Yahara Watershed in Dane County, Wisconsin on best management practices through the Clean Water Alliance.
•Fond du Lac Agriculture Society in Wisconsin to enhance their Ag Birthing and Education Center at the Fond du Lac County Fair.
•Dodge County, Wisconsin Leaders Association Dairy Youth Advisory Committee for the Education Moo Booth at the Dodge County Fair.
•Continued support for the Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association Food Armor program helping veterinarians work with producers to ensure safe meat and milk.
•Kansas State Research and Extension Department of 4-H Youth Development for the Kansas Junior Dairy Exploration program.
•The Nebraska 4-H Foundation for the dairy exhibit component of the Nebraska Agricultural Experience, a year-round facility for telling the story of Nebraska agriculture.
