This week’s Global Dairy Trade (GDT) auction saw a rise in price of 1.4 per cent, which will be welcome news for many hard hit dairy farmers. Â The previous four events had price falls, with the last price rise occurring in December.
The average price achieved at the auction was $2,253 (USD/MT, FAS).
Skimmed Milk Powder prices rose by 1.3 per cent, whilst Whole Milk Powder prices increased by 5.5 per cent.
However, butter prices fell by 0.5 per cent, butter milk powder by 2.9 per cent, and cheddar by 0.7 per cent.
