Changes Continue At Murray Goulburn
December 8, 2016

Changes continue at the top at Murray Goulburn with two more senior executives set to leave the company.  Executive general manager supplier relations Robert Poole is leaving Murray Goulburn to take up a new position with KPMG in February.

Executive general manager dairy foods and ingredients Russell Abotomey is set to retire but will remain in the business until a replacement is found.

The departure of the pair follows the resignation last month of company secretary Fiona Smith.

It also follows the departure of managing director Gary Helou and chief financial officer Brad Hingle in April following the distastrous late-season farmgate milk price cut and profit downgrade.

MG’s acting chief executive David Mallinson said he announced the new departures with “deep regret”.

Mr Poole, who joined the company in 2008, was responsible for the review of the milk payment system in 2012 and the creation of the New Generation program to support young suppliers.

He was also president of the Australian Dairy Products Federation and deputy chair of the Australian Dairy Industry Council for six years.

In his new role at KPMG, Mr Poole will be responsible for leading specialised management consulting services to clients in the agribusiness sector.
