The Osnabrueck Herdbook (OHG), the breeding center for Holsteins in Germany, is well known for their breeding program as well as the stayability and reliability of their Osnabrueck Holstein bulls. New August 2010 Interbull breeding values of the Osnabrueck Holstein bulls are now available here and on the website.

Due to the tremendous milk recording figures and field reports it wasn´t a surprise at all, that the August 2010 Interbull evaluation adds new interesting bulls to the Osnabrueck Herdbook Cooperative (OHG) product line.

SHANDAR is not only the highest daughter proven Shottle son in Germany with RZG 135, but also the highest available production improver. Therefore he fits well to all farmers, who need to increase their milk output at the end of the European quota system. His strong, tall, deep and wide daughters overawed by enormous capacity, but present still a lots of dairyness and style. Therefore he is really a bull that gives his daughter the power to produce really easy. Despite his tremendous production figures (+2300 kg milk) the high rear udders are firmly attached. Milk robots will also like the long, not too close teats. The quality and uniformity of his daughter group (presented at the Osnabrueck district show in August 2010) were very impressive. His “start value” for longevity indicates already a long herdlife. Shandar (aAa 315) should be an ideal mating on the many Ramos & Wizzard cows.

With MAXIMO-RED the OHG product line offers also the highest German production bull for the Red Holstein breed. With + 2352 kg milk, +71 kg fat and + 71 kg protein he is a real money maker. His tall daughters impress by their style, dairyness and their rear udders. He should be used only on cows. Due to his outcross bloodlines for Red Holstein (Marmax RC x VG-87 Marshal x VG-86 Evreux) Maximo-Red can be used very widely.

The use of Germany´s highest available R & W type improver TOP-RED (Talent x Lentini x Milan-Red) is meanwhile a “must” for enthusiastic show fans. His extremely high type ratings (RZE 133) were already demonstrated at the International Black & White Days in January 2010 and improved for udder (133) and legs (123) now in August once again. But many customers also like his favourable protein to fat ratio as well as his high values for workability and fitness. The calving ease sire is one of the best bulls for milking speed along with good udder health. With + 3 he is also one of the highest available bulls for sire fertility and with RZN 126 (+ 8) now the highest R & W bull born in this century! Therefore it’s no surprise that Top-Red is not just of interest for Red & White breeders.

WIZZARD remains a phenomenon! He keeps improving over the time. Meanwhile he belongs to the Top 3 second crop sires in Germany. He is for sure the highest available German total production bull for combined fat & protein (+145 kg) besides Shandar for B & W Holsteins. The trouble free Wizzard daughters are very easy to work with due to their positive daughter fertility, milking speed and calving ease. Well-known is also the tremendous semen fertility of Wizzard (aAa 156).

LAZAR, the highest Lancelot son in Germany with RZG 130, should be the right choice for all farmers, who want to change the fat to protein ratio of their herd (+40 kg & +0,14 % protein). His tall daughters are moving well on their clean legs and impress by their udder quality. The bull combines good udder health with high milking speed as well as high daughter fertility and calving ease. His value for longevity indicates long lasting cows. 

GOLDINO seems to be a perfect allround sire – with positive values for all figures! Take a look at your own! This early daughter proven Goldwin son is out of one of the most popular cow families with four generations in the row successfully proven at the Osnabrueck bull dam testing station and at shows. Goldino does not sire real extreme, but has no weakness in his whole proof and almost a perfect linear for his type trait evaluation. Additionally he is positive on all workability, health and fitness traits and with a rating of 107 a real calving ease bull, that sires also enough body capacity. So Goldino is another bull that can be used on a wide range of different blood lines and should fit particularly to OMan and BW Marshall bloodlines.
