With the “Stars of Sahara Sale” less than 3 weeks away, news is just in of the great classification they recently had!

Every milking sale animal is scored Excellent or VG- even the 2 year olds, and there were some really great individual scores which only enhance the world renowned pedigrees they are bred from.

Highlights of the day included Wiltor September Raven going EX-93 (EX-94 Mam), making her the 6th generation of EX or VG cows from the Markwell Bstar E Raven EX-95 cow family. Milking in her third lactation, she recently won the Interbreed honours at Monmouth show. She sells on Friday 17th September with daughters by Sanchez and Duplex.

Sahara Damion Tessie VG-89 3yr, despite being only a few weeks fresh scored VG-89 3yr (EX Mam), she of course is the reigning Reserve Champion Milking Heifer from the 2010 National Holstein Show. Damion Tessie completes 10 generations of EX or VG cows and sells ready for the Show ring.

A number of milking heifers scored VG as 2 year olds including Sahara Advent Enjoy VG-87 2yr, and Sahara Advent Elegance VG-87 2yr full sisters bred from 5 Excellent dams including three which are EX-96 she is a grand-daughter of the Unanimous All-American 5 year old Budjon-JK Linjet Eileen EX-96. Advent Enjoy sells with her three Goldwyn daughters, whilst Advent Elegance also has a Goldwyn daughter in the sale.

Achieving the same score was Sahara Damion Ebony VG-87 2yr, whose two closest dams are both scored Excellent, she goes back to the former #1 CTPI cow Rocky-Vu Rotate Exctasy Ebony EX-94, she sells as do her two full sisters and VG-87 2yr maternal sister by Pursuit September Storm. Sahara Goldwyn Adeen VG-87 2yr is from a Maternal sister to one of the world’s hottest cows MD-Delight Durham Atlee EX-92, the unanimous All American 3 year old.

Several other sale heifers went VG as 2 year olds including two Advent daughters from Gloryland Lori Rae EX-91, which are potentially the 9th generation of Excellent, a Talent daughter of Savage Leigh Licorice EX-92 and a grand-daughter of the World Dairy Expo Champion Vandyk-K Integrity Paradise EX-96. Also for those looking for Red and White bloodlines Glaslough Talent Kim Red bred from the World renowned Kimo family scored EX-91.

Every animal catalogued for sale has a rock solid pedigree, the catalogue will be available to view on-line imminently.
