On Saturday October 30th, one of the highlights of this years Holstein Calendar will take place in Italy, when the European Classic sale is staged at Giuseppe Quaini’s Castleverde Holsteins . Taking place on the same weekend as the European Holstein Championships held at nearby Cremona, the sale features some of the worlds leading genomic females and most exclusive pedigrees the Holstein breed has to offer.

Breeders from the UK and Ireland are invited to join the “Classic Tour” which will allow them the opportunity not only to enjoy the culture and fine dining Italy has to offer but also be part of the European Classic sale. They can also witness first hand the European Holstein Shows where 15 countries will be participating for the honour of European champion under UK Judge and HUK chief classifier John Gribbon. The very best cows from Spain, Switzerland, France, Holland, Germany and Italy amongst others will compete for one of the most coveted awards –that of European Champion, competition will be fierce and hotly contested and Europe’s best cows will be on display.

Also officiating at the European Holstein Show is Mr Iwan Morgan of the Carmarthen based Erie herd, he has been selected to judge the showmanship section of the show which takes place on Friday 29th October, which will see some of the best young leaders in Europe compete for the top award.

The “Classic Tour” will depart from major airports such as Stansted, Bristol, Manchester, and Edinburgh, with full transport laid on upon arrival for those participating. Visitors will be transported to the picturesque city of Cremona, where hotel accommodation has been arranged, and where the show and sale take place in close proximity.

The European Classic sale features 40 mouth-watering pedigrees consigned from breeders all over Europe, including the UK and Ireland.

·         Visit Castleverde Holsteins to tour the facilities and cows and also see the sale cattle offered in the European Classic Sale

Day of leisure to relax and take in some of the local scenery
